Estimating Emotion Structure in Humans and Large Language Models

We compare the high-dimensional emotion structures elicited by video stimuli in humans and in multimodal large language models (LLMs), computationally elucidating their correspondence. By clarifying how the structure of emotion as subjective experience is shared and corresponds across different biological and artificial intelligences, we contribute to a constructive understanding of emotional qualia.
