Kentaro Nomura of our lab will give the following presentation at the 2026 Conference on Artificial Life (ALIFE 2026, August 17–21, 2026, Waterloo, Canada), whose theme is “Living and Lifelike Complex Adaptive Systems.”

Using active inference as a unifying framework, this work models through multi-agent simulation how social reality is constituted from interactions among agents. Agents that form social priors over a structured network endogenously give rise to informationally cohesive groups through the dialectic of conformity and creativity, and a circular mutual constitution emerges between social representations and the observation distribution.
